Josh Barry, representing both Warracknabeal BC and Clayton BC, first discovered his love for bowls at age 12 after countless hours rolling carpet bowls at his grandparents’ house. Armed with his grandma’s old Dunlop set, he crossed the road to Warracknabeal Bowls Club and never looked back. Now using SR Size 4 bowls, Josh has achieved some incredible milestones, including winning the World Cerebral Palsy Games Singles twice and Pairs three times across multiple years. Inspired by Ryan Bester, he has travelled the world playing bowls, competing across every Australian state and abroad eight times. For Josh, the sport is as much about opportunities as it is about success, with his favourite advice reminding him that “the bowl in your hand is the most important one.” Off the green, he’s just as keen on movies, gaming, and showing his versatility across multiple sports.
