Lacey Gerick, representing Club Kawana, first started playing bowls at just 8 years old after spending school holidays at the bowls club with her grandparents. What began as time on iPads with her siblings quickly turned into a lifelong passion once her nan and pop encouraged them to give bowls a go — and Lacey hasn’t looked back since. Using Taylor Redline SRs or Aces, she trusts their consistency to back herself in any conditions. Inspired most by Katelyn Inch, who she credits as both a mentor and close friend, Lacey has already achieved some incredible milestones, including back-to-back U18 Queensland State Fours titles with her siblings and winning the 2025 Queensland Women’s State Triples at just 15. For Lacey, bowls has also been about family, friendships, and opportunities that few sports can offer — playing across generations, genders, and alongside the people closest to her. Off the green, she’s happiest outdoors, especially at the beach, surrounded by family and friends.
