Mitchell Mears, representing Broadbeach, first discovered bowls in 2008 at just 9 years old after watching it on TV. Since then, he’s gone on to carve out his own success, highlighted by winning the 2018 Australian Triples Title—his most prized achievement to date. Using both Redline SR and Taylor GTR bowls, Mitchell values their reliability as great all-rounders. Inspired by Ryan Bester and driven by the advice to “work hard, stay humble,” Mitchell has represented both district and state. When he’s not competing, you’ll often find him happily marking singles games, travelling, or staying immersed in the sport he loves.
