Richard Girvan, representing Nelson Bay, first stepped onto the greens in 1989 after being introduced to the sport by his mum and dad. A proud Taylor GTR user, he believes in using the best equipment to perform at the highest level, trusting the premium consistency of his bowls across all conditions. Inspired by Danny O’Connor, Richard’s most cherished moment wasn’t on the world stage, but at home — winning the Okahu Bay Club Pairs alongside his dad, an achievement he treasures above all else. Beyond competition, bowls has given him the chance to travel extensively and carve out a career in the club industry.
