Riley Gerick

Riley Gerick, representing Club Kawana, first got into bowls in 2018 after spending school holidays hanging around the club with his nan and pop. When they asked if he, his brother and sister wanted to give it a go, Riley thought “why not” — and that decision quickly turned into something much bigger. Using Taylor Redline SRs since early on, he values how versatile and reliable they are. Riley looks up most to his nan and pop, Hans and Krystine Gerick, and his most memorable moment came when he won the Under 18 National Singles on the other side of the country, knowing his family and Queensland supporters were watching back home. For Riley, bowls has been about more than results — it’s given him lifelong friendships he’ll always be grateful for. Outside of bowls, he enjoys catching up with mates and has recently gotten right into running.
