Scott Franklin, now representing Burleigh Heads, first started playing bowls back in 1977 while working as a greenkeeper. A long-time Taylor user, he played with SRs even before becoming a Taylor Ambassador and still switches between SRVs, GTRs, Vectors, and SRs depending on conditions. Inspired by “The Ice Man” Rowan Brassey, Scott’s most memorable highlight was winning the Australian Open Over 60’s Pairs alongside his great mate Rocky Stone. Bowls has also given him the chance to represent both NSW and QLD, travel widely, and meet incredible people along the way. Away from bowls, Scott has a rich sporting background—representing Australia in baseball, while also enjoying cricket, league, golf, fishing, and plenty of family time.
