Serena Bonnell, proudly representing Club Tweed, first gave bowls a go in her 20s but only started playing regularly in her 30s. Drawn in after seeing the sport on TV, she loved its inclusivity and adaptability, and was welcomed with open arms at Burleigh Bowls Club. A self-proclaimed “Taylor girl through and through,” Serena uses Redline SRs on quick surfaces and Aces on heavier greens, trusting their comfort and reliability in any condition. Her most memorable achievement was setting a Guinness World Record—playing for 33 hours and 12 minutes straight with a fresh set of Taylors. Inspired by her teammate Lynsey Clarke, Serena has also embraced ambassador, leadership, and administration roles within bowls, giving back to the sport that has given her so much. Outside of bowls, she cherishes family time, travel, and supporting her para player community.
